SketchUp is my preferred modeling software. It is well-suited for architecture.

It is also equipped with a scripting language which allows users with programming knowledge to create their own tools.

So far I have written several extensions, among which SU2KT (used by many thousands of people world-wide) is the most popular and by far the most complex. It exports 3D models along with textures and lights from SketchUp directly into a format recognized by Kerkythea – a free professional-quality rendering engine.  Unique to Kerkythea is the number of available rendering methods.

Front Face is a simple tool helping to flip all ‘front faces’ that are not
visible to the camera. It is an important tool for those who use rendering
programs or model for Google Earth.

Bring My View Back - it is a plugin that draws a rectangle covering
precisely the entire current view in SU at a distance of ca. 1m from a
camera and perpendicular to it. It was the way to get simple title blocks
directly in SU or to make simple photomontages in SU.

Unhide all - unhides all hidden lines in a selection or in an entire model.

Balustrade creates a simple balustrade.
